I’m Hala Dabboussy, author of Goldie the Very Bright Light and founder of Harmony Over Hustle.
Goldie began as a project given to me by my speech pathologist during rehab after I suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm. What started as part of my recovery became a story I wanted to share with children.
I wish I’d had a story like Goldie when I was being made fun of at school—a reminder that being different doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. That’s why my school visits are about kindness, confidence, and helping children embrace what makes them unique.
Email info@harmonyoverhustle.net with your school name, location, preferred dates, grade levels, number of classrooms, and approximate student count.
Hala will discuss availability, visit format, book arrangements, and a proposal for your school.
Keep exploring the separate Books page for the Goldie collection and Hala’s other titles. Families may order online; on-campus book arrangements require school approval.
Keep the light shining after the visit
Try these simple classroom conversation starters:
My bright quality: Invite students to name or draw something that makes them unique.
Kindness in action: Ask, “What is one kind thing we can do for someone today?”
A light I see in you: Invite students to share a kind observation about a classmate, with teacher guidance.
1. Tell us about your school. Send your preferred dates, grade levels, classroom count, and approximate student numbers.
2. Shape your visit. Discuss the session format, schedule, books, classroom package, and proposal with Hala.
3. Get ready to shine. Introduce Goldie, collect students’ questions, and coordinate book arrangements before the visit.
Questions schools often ask
